Day 16 - Fort Nelson, BC

It's one of those days that I absolutely despise. Don't get me wrong I love the cold and I think everyone knows that, but I hate it when it's overcast and drizzly rain. The temp outside reads 39 degrees F. Yes, it's one of those days. Fortunately we don't have a long days drive 198 km or 123 miles. We packed up and left our wonderful riverside site behind. The only downfall of that campground was the power. It was the worst so far on the trip. However, the river made up for it.

As soon as we left the campground we had to climb a monster hill. Precious took it well, even when she hadn't warmed up.
The roads have been fantastic so far. So many people have told me horror stories about the Alaska Highway. So far they are all wrong.
The trip today was pretty much uneventful. We thought we would see wildlife, wrong. What we did see was a rabbit eating grass on the side of the road and a large black bear doing the same. That's it. No pictures, we were by them before we knew it.
We arrived at the campground before lunch. It was nice for a change it gave everyone time to get caught up on laundry and shopping.
After awhile Susan made hats for the dogs. Poor Charlie and Calusa.

Tomorrow should be a better weather day. We will be climbing into the mountains. Should be some awesome scenery.
