Day 4 - Parc National du Bic

Length of Stay: 4 nights
Visited: 15-19 August 2023

Today is going to be a better day I can feel it. And I was right. We arrived at Parc National du Bic which is located about 23 kms southwest of Rimourski. We set up, had a quick lunch, took the dogs for a walk, and then we started to explore. Even though it is called Parc National it is in fact not a national park but a Quebec provincial park. The park is 33.2 square kms located on the south shore of the St Lawrence River. Bic was established as a park in 1984. The highest point is Pic Champlain at 346 metres or 1,135 ft.  Walking the dogs can be tricky since this park is extremely strict . They can only be walked in the camping area where we are which is not a large area. The only other place is Pic Champlain trail, more on that later.
Up and above the campground fees in Quebec you must purchase a daily pass at $9.55 per person or an annual pass(good for 1 year at $86.00 per person). I bought an annual pass for each of us before leaving home.
There are 2 visitors centers located in the park. One at Riviere-du-Sud-Ouest just across the road from where we are camping and the other at Ferme Rioux.

When we arrive at a large park we always like to get the lay of the land meaning find out where everything is. I also look at trails to see which ones best suit us. With maps and information in hand we returned to the trailer to have an early supper, campfire, and relax.
